Psalm 138: 1 - 8

[1] I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods.

[2] I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.

[3] As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.

[4] Every king in all the earth will thank you, LORD, for all of them will hear your words.

[5] Yes, they will sing about the LORD's ways, for the glory of the LORD is very great.

[6] Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.

[7] Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me.

[8] The LORD will work out his plans for my life - for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me.

Psalm 31:1-24 & Psalm 62:1-12

O LORD, in You I seek refuge; do not let me ever be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me.

[2] Incline your ear to me; rescue me now. Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me.

[3-4] You are indeed my rock and my fortress; for your name's sake lead me and guide me, take me out of the net that is hidden for me, for you are my refuge.

[5] Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God.

[6] You hate those who pay regard to worthless idols, but I trust in the LORD.

[7-8] I will exult and rejoice in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have taken heed of my adversities, and have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; you have set my feet in a safe place.

[9] Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eyes are worn out from grief, and so is my soul and body.

[10] For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my misery, and my bones waste away.

[11] I am the scorn of all my adversaries, a horror to my neighbors, an object of dread to my acquaintances; those who see me in the street flee from me.

[12] I am ignored as if I were dead, as if I were a broken pot.

[13] I have heard the many rumors about me, and I am surrounded by terror. My enemies conspire against me, plotting to take my life.

[14] But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."

[15] My future is in your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors.

[16] Let your face shine upon your servant; save me in your steadfast love.

[17] Don't let me be disgraced, O LORD, for I call out to you for help. Let the wicked be disgraced; let them lie silent in the grave.

[18] Let the lying lips be stilled, yes Lord, all who speak insolently, full of pride and contempt against the righteous.

[19] O how abundant is your goodness that you have laid up for those who fear you, and accomplished for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of everyone!

[20] In the shelter of your presence you hide them from human plots; you hold them safe under your shelter from contentious tongues.

[21] Blessed be the LORD, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was beset as a city under siege.

[22] In panic I cried out, "I am cut off from the LORD!" But you heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help.

[23] Love the LORD, all you godly ones! For the LORD protects those who are loyal to him, but he harshly punishes the arrogant.

[24] Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD.

As for me, my soul is already committed to

[1] wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.

[2] He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

[3] So many enemies against one man - all of them trying to kill me. To them I'm just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence.

[4] They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts.

[5] Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.

[6] He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.

[7] My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.

[8] O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.

[9] Common people are as worthless as a puff of wind, and the powerful are not what they appear to be.

If you weigh them on the scales, together they are lighter than a breath of air.

[10] Don't make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don't make it the center of your life.

[11-12] God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times:

Power, O God, belongs to you;
Unfailing love, O Lord, is yours.

Surely you repay all people according to what they have done.

and now Lord, I have made up my mind, that

Psalm 71:15-17 & 51:12-13 NLT

I shall tell everyone about your righteousness.

Though I am not skilled with words, all day long I will proclaim your saving power,

I will praise your mighty deeds, O Sovereign Lord. I will tell everyone that you alone are just.

O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood, and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you do.

But please, restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.

Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you.

Psalms 141:2-5 / 8-10, Ps30: 1-12 & Saint Jude 1: 24-25,

O Merciful Father, God of heaven and earth, when I pray, may
[2]...my prayers be like incense placed before you, and my praise like the evening sacrifice.

[3] LORD, help me control my tongue; help me be careful about what I say.

[4] Take away my desire to do evil or to join others in doing wrong. Don't let me eat tasty food with those who do evil.

[5] If a good person rebukes me, that would be kind.

If he corrected me, that would be like perfumed oil on my head. I shouldn't refuse it. But I pray against those who do evil.

[8] O GOD, see how I look to you for help. see how much I trust in you, LORD.

Don't let me die in the hands of the wicked.

[9] Protect me from the traps they set for me and from the net that evil people have spread.

[10] Let the wicked fall into their own nets, but let me escape;

and then...

Psalm 30: 1-12

[1] I will exalt you, Lord, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.

[2] O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health.

[3] You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.

[4] Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name.

[5] For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime!

Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

[6] When I was prosperous, I said, “Nothing can stop me now!”

[7] Your favor, O Lord, made me as secure as a mountain.

Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.

[8] I cried out to you, O Lord. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying,

[9] “What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness?

[10] Hear me, Lord, and have mercy on me. Help me, O Lord.”

[11-12] You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.

You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent.

O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!

[24] For all glory is to You O God, who is able to keep us from falling away, and because of your unfailing love and mercy toward those who listen to your call and obey your instructions, we know that you will bring us with great joy into your glorious presence without a single fault.

[25] All glory to Him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord.

All glory, majesty, power, and authority are His now and forever! Amen.
